Rack nickel plating on metal components

Galvanik performs rack nickel plating on industrial metal components in brass, copper and bronze. Every component is fixed individually on dedicated frames to ensure uniformity of the nickel deposit and special care for the quality of the finish, also on complex geometries.

What is rack nickel plating

Uniform nickel deposit, managed piece by piece

Rack nickel plating is an electroplating treatment in which each component is hooked individually before being immersed in the nickel plating baths. This mode lets us monitor the position of the piece, avoid contact and accidental masking, and achieve a uniform nickel deposit on visible surfaces, fittings and complex geometries. It is particularly suited to parts for tapware, fittings, small parts, pipes, traps and flexible hoses.

Features

Why choose rack nickel plating

Deposit uniformity

Consistent nickel thickness even on components with articulated geometries and visible surfaces.

Process control

Bath parameters and treatment steps monitored to ensure consistency between different batches.

Dedicated racks

Racks designed around the component to optimise output, finish quality and production rate.

Typical applications

Where rack nickel plating is used

A technical finish suited to industrial components where appearance, uniformity between pieces are essential to the product.

  • Tapware and sanitary components
  • Metal fittings
  • Precision small parts
  • Pipes, traps and flexible hoses
  • Technical and decorative components
  • Parts for industrial assemblies

Indicative thicknesses

Controlled deposit per specification

Deposit thickness is defined based on the technical specifications required by the customer and the characteristics of the component. Indicatively, rack nickel plating involves average thicknesses between 6 µm and 10 µm, variable depending on the part's needs and the processing.
